Legacy Trail
In 2008 Sarasota County opened the largest public recreation project ever constructed in the area. The Legacy Trail totals more than 10 miles of biking and walking paths running from just south of the city of Sarasota to Venice following the former CSX railroad corridor. The Trail connects to the Venice Trail and continues to Caspersen Beach and Shamrock Park. A portion of the trail runs adjacent to Mission Estates and is easily accessed at Laurel Road. www.co.sarasota.fl.us/LegacyTrail |
