Sarasota County Neighborhood Challenge Champions!
In February 2017, through the collaborative efforts of Neighborhood Services, UF/IFAS Extension and Sustainability, and the Sarasota County Office of the Florida Department of Health, the first Sarasota County Neighborhood Challenge was Launched. Participants were challenged to showcase how they are the most involved, healthy and sustainable neighborhood in the county, completing scorecards to evaluate their neighborhood levels of involvement, sustainability and health. On November 14, 2017, Mission Estates HOA, Inc was recognized as one of three top scoring neighborhood challenge champions! A certificate of recognition was awarded to Mission Estates in celebration of our effort, dedication and community strengthening, and was presented as a remembrance by Sarasota County Commission.

Sustainable Communities Workshop
Neighborhoods are the building blocks of our community and neighbors who work together are stronger and healthier. The Sarasota County Neighborhood Challenge encourages neighbors to work together, learn together, do projects together in a way that is more sustainable, more healthy and more involved.
